What are people saying about KDC Martialarts?

Head Instructor Eric Miller is an amazing teacher. Patient, funny, and kind. I love that he adapts moves to work for MY body (I’m a little teapot, short and stout), and also that he fosters an atmosphere of respect and inclusion. He uses bits and pieces from many traditions to create a toolkit for each person that is both fun to learn and practical to use. I’ve taken lessons with him for years and brought my teen-aged niece and young daughter to learn self-defense as well. I can’t recommend Kicking Dragon’s Circle Martial Arts enough!

Eric Miller, the head of KDC Martial Arts, is a fantastic teacher. I’ve been training for 30 years and competing in boxing and grappling for 10 years. I reached an impasse while sparring and competing, so I reached out to eric to ask for help. His ability to assess a persons strengths and weaknesses and build off of them is invaluable. I pretty much go to him now when my coaches don’t have any answers. I even signed up at an mma school with a weekly open gym just so I could invite Eric since his school was too far from me (on the northside of Chicago). During our first session Eric helped us learn more than we had in the last four weeks.
He kind of reminds me of Dean Thomas in the sense that he seems to have an answer for everything except Erics knowledge goes way beyond just grappling.
I can’t recommend this school enough!

KDC’s teaching style is not only effective but also incredibly engaging. They have a knack for breaking down complex techniques into manageable steps, making them easy to understand and master. Whether you’re a beginner or have been practicing for years, they tailor instruction to suit your skill level and goals.
Beyond technical expertise, they bring a genuine passion for martial arts to every session. The enthusiasm is contagious, and it’s clear that they genuinely cares about their student’s progress and well-being.

KDC Martial Arts is a great school. Especially in taking specific movements or attacks/defenses, and adjusting them for the individual. Great at breaking down the individual principles of Martial Arts and making you effective to what you as an individual need to learn to be successful.

Kicking Dragon’s Circle Martial Arts is able to adapt martial arts skills to an individual’s abilities and needs. Whether it’s for self-defense or competition. The patience to help students push past their comfort zones. Encouraging students to build their confidence one step at a time.
